Interrogating the role of m⁶A mRNA methylation in the aging of the β-cell and diabetes

The goal of this project is to use state-of-the art methods to characterize the m⁶A methylome of the aging β-cell and identify m⁶A-regulated pathways that underlie the accelerated β-cell aging in diabetes.

Investigating RNA modifications and the impact of healthspan interventions

The goal of this project is to examine specific RNA modifications associated with age-related metabolic disorders (e.g., diabetes and obesity) and health interventions (e.g., exercise, caloric restriction, intermittent fasting).

Exploring m⁶A-dependent control of the β-cell endogenous dsRNAome in Type 1 Diabetes

This project investigates how m⁶A regulates endogenous dsRNA in β-cells and how this pathway contributes to innate immune activation in type 1 diabetes.
